544M EASE-OF-USE BOOSTS PRODUCTION.
200 Tool Offsets
After jogging to the offset position, push a button; the 544M CNC stores the length offset and then retrieves the next tool from the turret.
100 Fixture Offsets
There are four utilities available for locating the starting positions:
1) Store position from JOG
2) Midpoint, halfway between two points
3) Corner, inside or outside
4) Center, calculated using three points. Select the option, jog to each point and press compute.
The computer calculates the offset and automatically stores the position.
Run-Time Menu
Facilitates tool/fixture offset modification, dry run selection, MST lockout, Z neglect and part
time displays while running the machine.
Quick Program Restart
Allows you to locate the desired starting point in the program. The 544M CNC establishes all G-codes,
M-functions and axis positions just prior to that block. The program then restarts and automatically begins machining.
Quick Keys
Enable you to perform certain setup and operational functions with the touch of one key.
Available quick keys are:
• Quick Auto • Dry Run • Edit • Zero Return • Text Tool • Set Length • Offsets - Diameter, Fixture and Tool Life Management • Axis Zero • Custom Macro
Powerful Program Editing w/ Functions Menu
Unlock efficiency with over 30 programming functions designed for seamless program creation directly at the machine. Intuitive menu prompts guide you through every cycle — drilling, tapping, boring, pocketing, engraving, and more. Simply input your data, press a button, and let the system automatically generate the necessary NC code. Plus, with Background Editing, you
can modify part programs while machining.

Engraving
Enhance your workpiece with our user-friendly engraving feature, allowing you to engrave
comments or ID numbers with just a single line of code. Choose from two engraving styles, including a stencil option for added versatility. Combine engraving with Flat Cam Programming to create precision engravings on rotary dies, or mirror-image characters for mold making. It's precision and flexibility at your fingertips!
4TH AXIS Flat Cam programming (G17, Q)
Streamline your axis programming with ease! With a (rotary axis option), you can program your workpiece in the flat XY plane, and the CNC effortlessly converts it to XA or XB motion. Perfectly designed for creating precision rotary dies, this feature saves time and ensures accuracy.
Modal Subroutine (G66, G67)
Enhance efficiency with Modal Subroutines, enabling you to create customized fixed cycles such as drilling, boring, pocketing, or any specialized routine. Simply call up the subroutine, define the positions, and the CNC automatically executes the routine at each specified location on the workpiece, streamlining your workflow and ensuring precision every time.
BRING THE POWER OF A STAND-ALONE PC TO YOUR CONTROL
The 544M includes a NUC form factor PC that drives the pendant monitor in order to view CNC operation. This is not a PC control – it's simply using the PC to view 544M screens via software. The operator can minimize, maximize and scale the 544M screens like any other Windows program.
A USB dongle connects to the NUC computer mounted inside the pendant. 544M screen information streams via USB and is displayed on the screen. A pendant mounted tray supports a customer proved wireless mouse and keyboard.

Run software on a PC with confidence knowing it cannot interfere with CNC operation. The USB connection is one way and only screen data is sent from the 544M.
Having a computer at the machine brings a host of possibilities along with confidence that the PC is not running any part of the CNC. , such as CAD/CAM programming at the machine, remote CNC viewing via TeamViewer/Google remote desktop, ability to check email, pulling files from anywhere on the network and placing them into the 544M memory... and is a nice way to perform program simulation using the software of your choice.

Custom Screen Generation for OEM's
In today’s competitive landscape, the ability to create a customized Human-Machine Interface (HMI) for your product offers OEMs a distinct competitive edge. A tailored HMI enhances user experience by providing intuitive, easy-to-navigate interfaces that align with the specific needs of the end user. This unique design not only strengthens your brand identity but also allows for seamless integration with the product’s functionality, leading to improved operational efficiency and reduced training time. By creating a personalized HMI, OEMs can differentiate their products in the market, improve customer satisfaction, and create lasting relationships by offering a more engaging, user-friendly interface. In short, a custom HMI isn’t just a design feature; it’s a strategic advantage that enhances both the functionality and the appeal of your product.

Jog Away
Our Jog Away feature provides CNC operators with a powerful tool to protect both the machine and the workpiece in the event an operator wishes to pause a program for inspection or to adjust offsets. Instead of restarting an entire program or risking further damage, Jog Away allows the operator to safely move the tool away from the part, inspect or replace components, and then return precisely to the interrupted position to resume machining. This not only saves valuable time but also preserves part integrity and reduces costly scrap. For manufacturers focused on uptime, precision, and productivity, this feature is a smart safeguard that enhances operational efficiency and gives operators greater control and confidence on the shop floor.

Extra Tool
The Extra Tool feature allows tool offset and diameter information to be defined with a unique tool number without regard to the tool changer pocket location. Unique tool numbers can be inserted into any tool changer pocket. When a tool is called from a program, the control will know which pocket it is in and insert it in the spindle.
This saves a tremendous amount of time by eliminating the need to re-sort tools and/or re-type diameter and offset information when changing tools from one job to another. Tools and their information will be retained even when removed from the tool changer. This makes replacing a removed tool due to limited tool changer size a breeze. It allows makes it simple to move tools from one machine to another.

Duplicate tools can be loaded into the tool changer. When used with the tool timer, a fresh tool can replace an expired tool at the next tool change. The time period is user defined.

Automatic coolant nozzle control
The 544M serial port can be re-defined as a built in interface to programmable coolant nozzle systems that automatically and precisely aim high performance coolant jets at the cutting edge of each tool. It is as easy as entering SETP parameters, scrolling to the RS-232 parameter and selecting "SEND T# OUT RS232" to Yes . The 544M will then automatically send the current tool via the RS-232 port.

No need to add sensors to the nozzle system in order for it to keep track of which tool is being used or sending tool identification to the nozzle system with DPRINT statements. .

CUSTOM RAMP CONTROL & OILER SETTINGS
The acceleration ramp can be set individually for each axis. This can be used in cases where there is a large mass on the table and the X/Y should ramp longer without penalty in the Z axis only moves. The DELTA value specifies in INCHES PER MINUTE when the control will start performaing ramp control. The default setting are best for most applications.
The OIL setting determines the trigger time in minutes for PDI type units.
